Cleaning has always been something that oddly puts me at ease. Now that it’s officially spring, refreshing the home is on my mind, and it’s the perfect time to take on the Febreze 7-Day Spring Cleaning Challenge. I’ve spent the past week tackling both my normal spring cleaning duties as well as discovering new uses for some of Febreze’s many products along with other Procter & Gamble cleaning essentials in my home.

In my arsenal of cleaning products for the challenge, I had the Febreze AIR in the spring-inspired scent, First Bloom, Febreze FABRIC in another spring scent, Happy Spring, Mr. Clean Magic Eraser Sheets, Mr. Clean Clean Freak All-Purpose Cleaning Mist, Cascade Platinum, and Dawn Platinum. All can be found here. I recommend keeping all your cleaning products together in one container and carrying it around to each room as you clean. You’d be surprised what kind of use you can find out of each item in even the unlikeliest of places.
Did you know that there may be 500 trillion odor molecules in your home that you aren’t even able to smell? Your home isn’t truly clean until it’s clean of unwanted odors, and cleaning the air is something we sometimes forget while spring cleaning and cleaning in general. Febreze works to find tough odors and replaces them with a light, fresh scent. Febreze spring scents in Happy Spring and First Bloom are absolutely divine; I’d describe them as very pretty, flowery scents that are perfect for the season.
Have you become a Bond Girl yet?

I started off last week with the bathrooms and then moved onto the kitchen. These are our dirtiest rooms that need deep cleans once in a while as well as daily maintenance, or else it gets ugly really fast. The kitchen and bathrooms are the most time-consuming rooms as well, so I like to tackle those first so I don’t get discouraged later. I like to turn on some fun music and fuel myself up with coffee to get myself in the mood to clean.

My favorite products to use in the bathrooms during the 7-Day Challenge were the Mr. Clean Clean Freak All-Purpose Cleaning Mist and the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser Sheets.
I can’t believe I hadn’t yet heard of the Mr. Clean Clean Freak All-Purpose Cleaning Mist, but it’s absolutely brilliant at cleaning sinks, countertops, toilets, and even mirrors. I even used it on our baseboards. The spray nozzle is super smooth and lets you spray upside down if needed. No wonder it has 5-star reviews online. I feel like I’ve been living under a rock.

I’ve always been a fan of the classic Magic Eraser blocks, but the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser Sheets are an absolute game-changer. They come in a cute little book and are flexible, thin sheets so you don’t have to waste or dirty up an entire block. Pure genius! My biggest transformation during this challenge was getting all the soap scum and hard water buildup off my glass shower; it was so easy with the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser Sheets, and I can’t recommend them enough. I usually use a squeegee daily after each shower, but over time a film builds up on the glass. The originals have always been a cleaning staple for me, but these new thin sheets are so much more convenient. Something about a clean shower just makes the bathroom feel properly clean.

I’ve used Cascade Platinum pods for my dishwasher and Dawn Platinum dish soap for hand washing dishes for ages, so I was no stranger to these two kitchen workhorses. For my spring clean, I usually wash all our rugs, and I actually use Dawn dish soap for my cowhide rug; I know it’s a rather unusual use for it, but this trick has come in handy for years. Our cowhide is in the living room and experiences a lot of foot traffic, so once in a while it needs a good scrub outside in the backyard. I wet it with a hose, put Dawn dish soap directly on the cowhide, and brush it in circles, finishing off with another hose down. I then hang it on a fence to dry in the sun.

Next is fabrics. I generally like to launder whatever can be laundered, but for the rest, or in between washes, I go through the house with Febreze FABRIC and spray in sweeping motions to lightly mist the couch, curtains, etc. Febreze FABRIC works to get rid of any lingering odors on hard-to-clean fabrics like carpets, sofas, curtains, and upholstery. A big part of refreshing the home for me is making sure all the fabrics smell fresh, which is a huge contributor to how the room smells when you walk in!
Febreze FABRIC with OdorClear Technology contains a complex of four different kinds of odor-clearing technologies (odor trappers, converters, neutralizers, and magnets, to be exact) plus long-lasting scents. Those 500 trillion odor molecules have nothing on Febreze FABRIC as it works to seek out tough odors and clean them away by deactivating and replacing them with a fresh spring scent.

As a finishing touch to my spring cleaning, I went through all rooms in the house and spray with Febreze AIR in First Bloom, which smells absolutely divine! It’s probably my favorite AIR scent I’ve smelled so far, and it helps clean the air by replacing any tough, unwanted odors with a light, spring scent. I then leave it in the bathroom and spray daily as needed.
Let me know if you decide to take on the Febreze Spring Cleaning Challenge and what products were your favorite along the way!
