A few months ago on Instagram I came across this washable (absolutely genius) rug brand called Lorena Canals. I’ve never understood why rugs had to be so difficult to maintain. Or are we supposed to buy new ones regularly? Anyway, their designs were amazing as well, so I was intrigued.
I had the hardest time deciding which I loved most. I went with the Wings Silhouette (also available at Nordstrom – that’s my friend Carmen‘s photo on the product page), which feels very me. I absolutely love how it looks with our decor, and despite being so cutesy and adorable, I think it really fits in with our living room/combination play area. I can’t wait to have a dedicated play room or a real nursery to put it in next.
Lorena has more neutral, non-baby-ish rugs too! I can totally imagine one of their rugs in my kitchen in the future.
Speaking of kid-friendly rugs, our cowhide rug pictured here has also treated us surprisingly well. Although it’s about 4 years old, I think it still looks like new, and it seems to get even better with age. Spills don’t sink into it instantaneously, so it gives me a chance to grab a paper towel and wipe away the evidence. Definitely recommend cowhide rugs too. Any rugs you get need to high quality so they can withstand aging and stains. If you’re thinking of getting a new rug then check out HTTPS://INFO.BAZAARVELVET.COM/RUG-QUALITY-GUIDE for a good guide on making sure you have a good quality rug.
We also got the white heart cushion. It’s washable, and both Vienna and I have taken a liking to it. She can even sit on it, because it’s somewhat firm.
Anyway, just wanted to share this awesome find and let you know that it definitely is worth it. If you don’t want the rug to move around as much, you can add a rug pad to ground it a bit.
Stay tuned, I have another home décor post lined up where I’m changing up our sectional’s throw pillows with Loom Decor. Woohoo!
