Since becoming a mom, midi-length dresses have become my go-to because they’re long enough to cover things but short enough to not get in the way of mom-ing. Plus dresses are a whole outfit in one, so that’s why I wear them so much. This rust-colored $79 Leith dress from Nordstrom helps me ease into fall because of the color, although it’s still regularly in the 70s and 80s in Orange County, California. It’s the long-sleeve version of my favorite tank midi dress by the same brand that you ladies love just as much as me. I can wear it now with my summer sandals or these beautiful new Pour la Victoire mule heels and add on a cardigan and booties later as temps fall. I love the flattering cut for my curvier shape and of course the midi length (I’m 5’8″ for reference). I ordered the size Small, and the fabric has a nice stretch to it. It’s breastfeeding-friendly and would be perfect for pregnant women too. This scoop-neck dress comes in the Rust Marsala color I’m wearing as well as a beautiful Navy, which I’m also eyeing since I know I’ll get a lot of wear out of this style both fall and winter.
One of my favorite Nordstrom categories for women’s clothing is Trend, which is where I find most of my affordable on-trend dresses. Some of my go-to Trend brands over the years have included Leith, Trouvé, Halogen, 1.STATE, Chelsea28, BlankNYC, Rails, Free People, BP., Lush, Articles of Society, and Treasure & Bond. I can basically guarantee you’re gonna find something that looks feminine and feels awesome and doesn’t break the bank (except maybe Rails, which is pricier but has amazing fabrics and cuts for the occasional splurge).
In addition to dresses for me, I’m a fan of dresses for my little girl too. A current favorite brand is Tea Collection at Nordstrom. They have the cutest fall dresses that are comfortable, colorful and perfect for playtime. They also wash and wear really well! I love putting her in their clothes when we’re just at home as well as the one-two days a week she goes to preschool. One thing to note about Tea is that pretty much everything I’ve tried from them runs small, so I order size 4T for my daughter who will be 3 years old in December. Their leggings and pajamas are also amazing. My son wears their stuff too.
I wanted to thank you if you’re still reading this for taking the time out of your incredibly busy (mom) life to read my blog post. I know firsthand how much responsibility it is and how much times it takes to take care of little ones, so I’m honored that you spend some of your me-time catching up on reading what I have to say. Plus, I know it takes a lot to get people to leave Instagram and go to my blog, so I’m flattered that what I do here is worthwhile for you. Please don’t feel shy to leave me blog comments on what you’d like to see more of and any additional questions you have; it really helps me figure out what to focus on, and first and foremost I want my blog to be a helpful resource as well as a positive source of inspiration for mamas like me. I know many of you like to send me DM’s, and I love chatting with you there daily, but if we move some of those conversations here, more women can see them and benefit from them. The comments below don’t require any registration, so it’s easy to add onto the conversation! I always read the comments on blog posts and articles to see what else I can learn. I’m so proud of this community, and I want to be helpful to as many women as possible.
