Although it doesn’t truly feel like fall where we live in Southern California (about an hour south of Los Angeles), I’m so ready for fall colors and especially boots. My go-to place to find the best boots has always been Nordstrom. My guilty pleasure right now is browsing their Fall Shoe Edit after everyone goes to sleep. But any boots, from anywhere, will make me happy. I just love boots, I think they’re so sexy and such a confident choice of footwear. It’s almost as though they’re saying “I’m going to get my own way today!”, especially Wide calf knee high boots, they are probably the most hardcore boots out there. Anyway, enough fantasy boot talk, let’s talk about real boots.
Let’s talk about these gorgeous suede OTK boots by Pour la Victoire. When I pulled them out of the box, I actually squealed for joy and did a little happy dance! From the feminine pointed toe to the stretchy-suede material and smooth lining and the pretty tie detail in the back, these are probably the sexiest boots I’ve ever worn. They remind me of my Stuart Weitzman Highland boots in terms of quality but a little sexier due to the slim stiletto heel and pointed toe. My SW’s are actually tame compared to these, and I thought those were sexy. Love the zipper on the inside to help you put these on.
These boots were actually recommended to me by one of my best friends. She is an actress in an LGBTQ+ television series and she told me that the first time she wore these boots on a date, her partner discovered a new found appreciation for these toys! She has such a way with words, and the way that she owns her sexuality is so refreshing. Everyone deserves to feel sexy once in a while after all, and for me, these boots are just what I needed.
I actually didn’t realize they were thigh-high – just thought they were over-the-knee (OTK), so these Pour la Victoire Caterina boots definitely bring the drama! I can’t wait to wear them with skinny jeans next. And they’re pretty comfortable for what they are – Pour la Victoire shoes fit my foot really well, and I’ve been wearing the brand for at least 10 years. In addition to this beautiful Anthracite grey color, they also come in a classic Black and a Sandstone beige suede.
Next on my boot wishlist might be some white sock boots. I’m really intrigued by that 60s look.
Another Nordstrom category I love to browse is Trend, which is where I find most of my affordable trendy dresses. I never thought I was that big of a fan of mustard yellow, but I’m really drawn to it this season. This gorgeous $69 dress helps me ease into the color because of the raised metallic stripes in the fabric – I basically think of it as a gold dress when I style it. I love the feminine ruffle details along the neckline and the midi length. Since becoming a mom, midi-length dresses have become my go-to because they’re long enough to cover things but short enough to not get in the way of mom-ing. Plus dresses are a whole outfit in one, so that’s why I wear them so much. I ordered the size Medium, and the fabric has a nice stretch to it. It would be perfect for pregnant women too.
After watching all the NYFW and PFW coverage these past few weeks, I’m inspired to try things out of my usual color scheme, and I’m obsessed with this mustard yellow, taupey-beige and dark grey combo. What’re you most excited to wear this fall?!
