We all know that a clarifying shampoo is a necessary step in our haircare routine. To make all the rest of our haircare work how it’s intended, it’s a good idea to press the reset button once a week. Finding a good clarifying shampoo can be a great way to make sure that your hair stays in the best condition possible, however, it’s essential that you find the shampoo that works best for your hair. It doesn’t have to feel like a chore, you’re keeping your hair in healthy condition.
I’ve recently decided to upgrade my clarifying shampoo to the Peppermint & Avocado (yes, it smells divine!) Volumizing & Clarifying Shampoo from PHILIP B. I’m big on scents, because I believe they add a lovely layer to the whole experience of primping; the aromatherapeutic effects of this shampoo are natural, stemming from pure plant extracts and essential oils. Also, I’m partial to the brand because they have a Russian Amber Imperial Shampoo that’s on my wishlist of luxury shampoos to try. It’s known as a fountain of youth for hair, and no matter your hair type, it promises healthier, smoother, silkier and more voluminous locks than ever. Can’t wait to try that one in the future!
Something to note, though, is that the first time I used the PHILIP B Clarifying Shampoo, I noticed that it didn’t seem to create very much lather; I checked the ingredient list and saw that it does in fact include a sulfate towards the beginning of the list, which is usually the detergent-type of ingredient that creates big lather. Baffled, I consulted with a SPACE NK employee at Bloomingdale’s about the lather, and he said that the sulfates are actually plant-based, so that’s why the lather is more like a sulfate-free shampoo.
Use the clarifying shampoo once a week to cleanse, clarify, and detox your hair
