#OOTD // Matching Mommy-and-Me Denim Jackets

Matching with my little girl never gets old, and I’ll do it as long as she lets me!  We’ve both been wearing our denim jackets from DL1961 a ton these past few weeks.  They’re the perfect layering piece for pretty much all seasons, especially fall in Southern California, and such an easy piece to throw on when we’re running out the door.  They go with dresses, knits, tees – almost anything.

I think moms always feel admired when their daughters try to copy their actions, mannerisms and overall style.  Maybe that’s why I’m always subconsciously matching with my kids.  It also feels like we “belong” to each other, kinda like wearing the same color t-shirt when you go to a theme park with your group so it’s easy to spot everyone, haha.

I love it when Vienna wants to wear lip balm after I put some on, tries to take photos of things just like mama’s always doing, and gets excited when I show her what she’s wearing today.  Her watching me and copying me also makes me even more aware that I’m one of her main role models in life, and that’s a role I take seriously.  But matching mommy-and-me fashion is always fun and lighthearted!

My DL1961 jacket is called the Dahlia in the Driftwood wash, and I’m obsessed with the hand-placed distressing.  It’s a boyfriend jacket with a longer, slouchier fit.  It just works with so much in my closet.

Lastly, my leopard mules are finally back in stock.  Grab yourself a pair before they sell out again, because I wear mine a few times a week.  They’re another piece in my wardrobe that just works and is so quick to put on/take off as a mom yet look put-together in seconds.  Vienna’s leopard booties are an older purchase from J.Crew, but they’ve released a similar style this year.
