I’m all about plaid, tartan, and houndstooth this fall, so when I saw this black and white shift dress at Forever21, I knew it would be a fun addition to my current wardrobe. It’s not maternity, so I went one size up from pre-pregnancy. The dress turned out a little short on me, so black Preggo Leggings went perfectly underneath. I topped it off with touches of glam from a faux fur stole, taupe leather boots, and a leopard foldover clutch.
Pregnancy books and apps warn that the third trimester usually brings with it some of the symptoms from the first, and unfortunately it’s started happening to me. I’m a lot more tired these days from simple everyday tasks, so I’m just planning my days out a little smarter to compensate. The nausea has reappeared more frequently as well. I’m trying to focus on the positive, though, since this is such a short period of time in my life, and the next chapter will bring a whole new set of worries as well as blessings.
My mama is throwing me a baby shower in less than a month, and I’m helping out a bit with decorating (only because I used to plan events professionally). That’s been really exciting to brainstorm and play around with.
These outfit photos were taken by Shawna Henrie of Bleudog Fotography; I’ve been loving working with her and definitely recommend her to any SoCal readers. Surprisingly we have some lovely blooming colors in our area right now, such as that gorgeous purple below, and I love how we were able to incorporate some of the natural flora into this post. Check out our first shoot together here.
