With cooler and dryer temperatures, our skin tends to need a little extra TLC. When we reach these cooler days, it may be worth your time to invest in some top quality skin care products. I’ve been trying out a few new skincare products that have made it into my fall rotation and wanted to share the goodness with my Bond Girls. In case you’re also pregnant like me, all of these products are safe for expecting women as well.
See my last Current Skincare Favorites post here (still love and use those products too, but these are new and exciting for fall).
Cleansing oils are great for any skin type, from dry to oily, because they don’t strip the skin of its natural moisture. I’ve tried a few and wanted to love them, but they tended to be kind of messy and time-consuming for my liking. This new cleansing oil from bareMinerals is literally a dream for me. The pump top makes it super easy to use, the scent is mild, and most importantly my skin feels really good afterwards! I reach for it over everything else these days. If you want to get something from the bareMinerals MINERALIXIRS line, I’d hands-down recommend trying this cleansing oil first.
I love my Clarisonic very much, but sometimes I just feel like manually exfoliating. This gentle exfoliant from S.W. Basics is made out of organic oat, almond flour, and sea salt. It’s completely natural, which is reassuring since I’m currently pregnant. It even tastes like a bit of the ocean if you accidentally get it into your mouth, haha! You only need a small amount to cover your entire face, and I sometimes use it to target rough spots on the body too.
The Daily Serum from Joanna Vargas is such a lovely skincare luxury that also acts as a multivitamin for your skin. Like the bareMinerals Cleansing Oil, the pump on this serum makes it simple to use, and the product itself penetrates quickly so I can get on with the rest of my skincare and makeup routine in a flash. It’s a clear light green serum that happens to also smell like candy! The packaging is glamorous, too, so it doesn’t hurt to accidentally leave it out on your bathroom counter.
I ran out of my Josie Maran Argan Oil, so I’ve been using this 5-Oil Blend from bareMinerals instead. The five oils are rosehip seed oil, camellia seed oil, grape seed oil, apricot kernel seed oil, and sunflower seed oil, which intensely nourish the skin. It’s definitely something I reserve for night-time use, though, since my skin type is on the oilier side of the spectrum; even a drop or two is plenty enough for me to moisturize. Like the Josie Maran Argan Oil, the bareMinerals 5-Oil Blend also comes with a pipette, which is the ideal way to dispense oils like this that can quickly become messy.
Like the bareMinerals 5-Oil Blend, I tend to use this eye balm at night so that I don’t risk my concealer moving around too much due to too much during the day. The bareMinerals Eye Balm is unique to me as an under-eye product in that it’s a solid balm, so you warm it up with a clean finger to apply. If I’m careful and use a very small amount, though, I occasionally use it as my daytime under-eye treatment.
Mario Badescu is a quality skincare line that is amazingly affordable as well. They have so much selection too and cater to every single skin type. I love their Rosewater Facial Spray for a refreshing spritz throughout the day, with or without makeup; it’s especially amazing if kept refrigerated. The spray can also be used to set makeup and diminish the powdery look.
This shea butter lip balm by LaNatura is one of the best lip balms ever. I also have the Coco flavor, which is amazing as well. It’s deeply nourishing, the perfect large size to cover the lips in a single swipe, and incredibly buttery (but not too soft either).
With a name like that, how could I resist not trying a flower mask? The Mario Badescu Flower & Tonic Mask is a pore-clarifying and calming mask for congested, bumpy or slightly oily skin types. The kaolin clay-based formula absorbs dirt and oil, while botanical ingredients soothe minor redness and irritation. I try to use it once or twice a week, but I don’t let it stay dried on my face for too long since the air is drier these days.
