I’m no makeup artist — just a regular gal who likes to do her makeup. I’m also a new mom and need to do my makeup quickly (usually single-handedly while nursing), so when I found out bareMinerals was coming out with a water-based BB cream/CC cream/tinted moisturizer, I wanted to try it out for myself. I’ve been wearing it most days at home and about town (not on photoshoot days, though — I want something more full-cover on those days) for the past few weeks.
My verdict is that the Complexion Rescue is a great product for someone on-the-go, preferably with drier skin, who needs light-medium coverage and doesn’t want any scent associated with their face product. I’m a bit on the oilier side of the skin type spectrum, so the first time I applied it over top serum and foundation, my face ended up looking dewier than I typically like. This is likely because it’s a tinted hydrating gel cream. I resolved this by only using a quick-absorbing serum beforehand and finishing off with a mattifying powder, which has been a winning combination for me.
Do you need the brush that goes with the product? Not necessarily (you could even just use your fingers), but it provides for a nice and clean application.
Have you seen my Shop sections above? I regularly update my Women’s, Men’s, Baby, Maternity, & Home sections with items I either currently use or would love to try and think my Bond Girls would enjoy as well!

I love when you review new beauty products? I also love the natural and easy going look of your makeup routine. I was wondering if you could do a blog on lip color and how to wear different shades for everyday looks. I’m such a noob when it comes to how to wear color on lips. Hope you are enjoying mommy-hood!
