When you live in a smaller space, you have to get creative with your organization, especially if you’re a handbag and shoe collector like me. We have this awkward hallway between our master bedroom and bathroom that has served as a place for me to dump things I needed to organize in the past, so I figured why not make the space beautiful yet functional with a pair of fabulous gold etageres where I can display my favorite pieces for the season? Since installation, I haven’t dumped anything in this area and keep it clean always. My clean laundry dumping grounds have moved elsewhere in the house, haha.
I’ve always dreamed of having an organizational system that lets me “shop my closet” like a boutique. The best part is, I found these gold etagere bookcases with glass shelves for an incredible deal compared to most other etageres! They are an absolute steal, and I looked all over the internet.
And in case you’re wondering, no, my bedroom doesn’t smell like shoes. My shoes don’t smell in general, and I’d never put stinky sneakers or something on display, haha.
Instead of hiding some of my favorite designer bags and shoes for the season, I figured why not put them on display? It’s actually a very functional system as well, since it’s so easy to pick out my accessories for the day and put them back when I get home.
The shelves came ready-to-assemble in long boxes. My husband and daughter made a fun family activity out of assembling these two bookshelves one night, complete with snacks and a movie playing in the background. My husband made sure to secure them at the top to the wall, which is very important to me with little ones around.
I literally jumped for joy when it was all finished. I love how the shelves are pretty narrow for the hallway and don’t block off the space. It’s literally the perfect solution for my random hallway. In the future, we can use these matching etagere bookshelves in a living room, dining room, or maybe an office for me one day.
