#OOTD // Embroidered Floral Dress & Pigalles

Spring will officially be here in just under a month, and our weather here in SoCal is already feeling pretty lovely most days.  I couldn’t wait any longer to wear this embroidered floral dress, which is perfect for spring in general as well as Easter, baby showers, bridal showers, fancy brunches, garden weddings, tea parties, etc.

Although I’ve always known that A-line dresses flatter me best, I haven’t always put dressing for my shape into practice.  It’s easy to get caught up in what looks beautiful on another person, not realizing that maybe their shape is entirely different from my own.  I’m trying to make a conscious effort to focus on dressing specifically for my body, especially since my confidence is a bit down as I try to lose the baby weight I still have from pregnancy.  If you’re an hourglass shape like me, you will especially love this style.

I paired this sweet A-line dress with tougher accessories — a studded box clutch and patent pumps.  For a change and to celebrate things to come, I went with a nude lip using a MAC Lip Pencil in Spice and the Hourglass Liquid Lipstick in Canvas over top.
