#OOTD // Leopard Print & Ripped Jeans

A few days ago I had a great mail day.  I unwrapped my Clare Vivier leopard print clutch, and I was so elated with the quality of the materials!  Each piece is different from any other because of the print.  Immediately to Instagram we went.  I still had my gorgeous yellow roses from the updated bedroom post.   I can’t wait to wear this clutch for nights out and Sunday brunch.  I just love how it folds over; it’s just the right size to hold in my hand or under my arm as well.  Also, leopard is a neutral, right?!  I paired the clutch with simple black and white and my crazy distressed jeans. The Pigalles were my first pair of Christian Louboutins a few years ago – so happy with that choice, and I’ll keep them forever!  Can someone say toe cleavage?              The flat (non-foldover) version of this clutch is available for preorder on Revolve Clothing right now.           White Zara Blazer (sold out, similar here and here) // Distressed Blue Jeans (similar here and here) // Clare Vivier Leopard Clutch // Black Zara Faux Leather Peplum Top (sold…

Style At Home // Bedroom Update

The bed is the centerpiece of the bedroom, and it was more than time for us to upgrade after almost 4 years of sleeping in a hand-me-down that I absolutely despised. We got rid of our black metal frame bed and ordered a velvet tufted wingback bedframe with nailhead accents from Hayneedle. This romantic style was always a dream of mine! We went with a queen size so that it would fit in the apartment with our giant mirrored nightstands, but one day we’ll get a king size when we buy a house and give this one to our daughter. All we need now is a new mattress to finish everything off! There are so many places where you can buy mattresses online, so watch this space and I will let you know how we get on. At the moment, we have a few brands in mind but still need to decide how much money we want to spend on a new one. This Simba Mattress Review sings high praise for the mattress so I think we’re leaning towards that option currently. For now, though, I am so pleased with how our bedroom has turned out. We have also made…

How To // Curl Hair with a Straightener

Ever wondered how you can use one hair tool to create multiple looks? Wonder no more. Today I show you a hair tutorial on how to use a straightener to curl. Sounds counter-intuitive, yes, but you read that right – curl. While this may not come across as the most immediate use for your straightener, it is no secret that the Best Hair Straighteners 2019 happen to be effective in curling hair too.   Be sure to pin this!   And the finished product…   These are the items I used to achieve the look:   Shop The Post:

Everyday Glam Makeup

Although my beauty cabinet is filled with quite a few other lovely makeup products (read: toys), somehow I always reach for particular tried and true products when I don’t want to think twice about what I’ll wear that day. These items also happen to be what I currently have in my travel makeup bag.  They work well for me, and you can see they’re well-loved (I’ve hit pan on a few items, and that Benefit Instant Brow Pencil is starting to look like a deluxe sample, haha).     LORAC PRO Palette A beloved palette of mine!  The top shades are matte, and the bottom row is shimmer.  It has every shade I would need for an everyday look, and the quality is lovely.  The thinness of the LORAC PRO Palette makes it ideal for travel.  My absolute favorite is “Gold” – it’s more of a bronze gold, and it makes my blue eyes pop.   Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua Liquid Foundation This Chanel liquid foundation is an ultra-light skin-perfecting hybrid fluid.  It’s not a full-coverage foundation, but it also doesn’t make me look and feel as heavily layered as others (which have their time and place for special events, etc.). …

Current Skincare Favorites

Welcome to my powder room counter, Bond Girl! I thought I’d share some of my current skincare favorites today. I know I’d like to see what’s behind other women’s medicine cabinets too. My routine is gradually evolving, especially since I like to try new things to possibly recommend here. If this post turns out to be helpful, I can also share some additional non-daily skincare treatments I like to use and future discoveries. Firstly, let’s cover the basics of what kind of skin I have. I’m in my mid-twenties with combination skin. I struggle to stay matte all day in my t-zone area, but my skin feels dry after cleansing, especially around the outer edges of my face and on my lips during the winter months. I also get the occasional acne flare-ups, the worst of which tend to come in waves (most likely hormonally-influenced). My skincare product choices are usually based on effectiveness, scent, and packaging. I like quality products, pleasant scents, and beautiful, classic packaging (don’t we all!). I enjoy using skincare products, because 1) I’m trying to prevent skin aging now instead of when it’s too late, 2) makeup application is a lot smoother with skin that…
