This past Saturday night Grandma and Grandpa had a great time with Vienna while Mr. Bond and I went out on the town. Honestly, it was our first time out alone as a couple since baby, which was long overdue. Time to start carving out time for just us more regularly, no matter what life throws at us!
We went to Ford’s Filling Station at the JW Marriott in LA for our special date night. We actually stayed there a few years back and absolutely loved it. That last time we also went to the same restaurant for dinner, but this year Chef Ben Ford took over as Ford’s Filling Station. Super chic spot for a date night, girls night out, or watching the game.
Right in the same center, they also have the WP24 by Wolfgang Puck, which I hear is another great date night spot. Have you been? I’d love to go.
We ordered drinks to start, a Whole Roasted Cauliflower to share, Seared Scallop for me, and Colorado Lamb Chops for Mr. Bond (see the menu here). We topped off the decadence with Chocolate Bread Pudding, which is making my mouth water as I write this.
The atmosphere was very chic and contemporary. Even though it was dark out already, all the city lights outside the restaurant made it feel so alive and bustling. We live in the suburbs, so it was a fun treat to be downtown. Our waiter was really attentive and recommended our appetizer to us, and the manager even came by and said hello!
I wore this black sleeveless trench coat dress with a faux fur stole, leopard clutch, and showstopping patent heels. The dress been my go-to for any night-time events ever since I got it, and I think I’ve worn it four times these past few months (which is saying a lot, because there’s some decent selection in my closet). You can also wear it more like a sleeveless trench coat with a striped top and jeans underneath for a more casual look.
