When you think of traditional maternity fashion, you don’t usually think of edgy cuts & fabrics. However, you can still keep the edginess in your personal style even while pregnant with pieces like this faux leather top by Bailey 44. I paired it with an asymmetrical metallic copper skirt I bought earlier this year before I got pregnant at Nordstrom. It’s by June & Hudson, but I can’t find it on the website anymore, so I linked a nice black asymmetrical option below. I turned up the glam factor with a faux fur stole (love them – I have one burgundy and one grey and find them to be really nice accessories for quickly dressing up an outfit, just like floppy hats), a gold fringe choker from Forever 21, my trusty leopard Clare Vivier clutch, and Christian Louboutin Lady Peep pumps in patent nude.
Let’s keep it real; I wouldn’t be able to wear these heels for long periods of time during this pregnancy due to my feet swelling a bit now, but I can totally see myself wearing this to a nice dinner out. We’re now at 27 weeks, and my daughter’s arrival is getting awfully close. I’ve been nesting (who am I kidding, though, I nest incessantly whether I’m pregnant or not) and now finally feel confident that she can come whenever she’d like and I’d be ready-ish.
Shawna Henrie of Bleudog Fotography took these fashion shots for me, and we had a lot of fun walking around downtown Laguna Beach through the shops and restaurants. Special thanks to Tuvalu for letting us take photos in their store.
